We made a start on tidying up the design rooms today. It's good all being together but when it came to reading Shakespeare ear plugs were essential. I'm struggling with Shakespeare a bit. I am getting to grips with it but it does make me feel really thick. I've never struggled with reading litreature except with Shakespeare back at school. I took me about 20 minutes to read 4 pages and only a third of the page is the actual text. I read it and nothing goes in so I miss the point. On the occasions when I can understand I do actually enjoy the story and can start to build up pictures of the characters in my head however some sections go compeltely over my head and it worries me. The notes do help and without them I doubt I'd have enough understanding of the text to think up ideas. However with the notes I am starting to have ideas I just don't like not being able to have a solid understanding of the text alone. The thing is I read so many books about the period when Shakespeare was writing that I've got a bit of an understanding of the vocabulary but I spend so much time trying to make sense of the structure that my mind isn't free to pick up the message being sent out by the writer. I'm going to try and watch it first on youtube and follow the story from that then go back to the text once i understand it.
