First Day Back . . . .

First day over. Well I don't know if I'd say over becuase I think I'm going to have to do a bit of reading of Shakespeare. I managed to come across a copy of Pericles that had commentary and explanations of the text. Hopefully this will help me to get a grip of the text. The story does seem quite interesting and apparently this is one Shakspeare play that has always been popular with more regular audiences throughout the ages. So that's my plans for the next few days. I think I'll read the play through once without thinking too much or taking notes so that I can familiarise myself with the story. That's easier said than done though; once you start reading the mind starts going. I'm somewhat panicked by the fact that I have 17 days to come up with a concept. The thing that is worrying me is just the fact that I think it could take me quite a while to get a feeling for the text. However it's 2nd year now so challenges like this are to be expected so I'll have to get on with it.

It turns out 2nd and 3rd year design students are to share a design space. It's going to be a tight squeeze but if we can manage to get everyone in with the necessary desk required I think that it's going to be really good for all of us. I think working with the 3rd years is going to completely change the dynamic in the classroom and I'm really pleased about this. It's going to keep things fresh for all of us and creativley I think it's going to be a good place to be. Sadly though things just won't be the same without Danielle and her two bad boys. However it's great she's back and next year if we move to Garscube who know's we may all be together again.

I'm trying to think of things I need to do :

* get into Pericles script
* work on Maw Broon
* print out the libretto for War and Peace
* deal with SAAS
